A recent experimental breed created by crossing Pekingese with Miniature Poodles. The result is an appealing little dog but is as yet without any official recognition. It is being developed purely as a companion dog and is restricted to the United States at the present time.
It is described as a friendly, protective, active, affectionate dog that is patient with children. It is suited to apartment life, although it is said to be a somewhat noisy barker. Its height is approximately II in (28 cm) and its weight 9-20 lb (4-9 kg).
A slighty smaller version, created by crossing Pekingese with Toy Poodle, was in’ volved in the development of the Ocherese (see separate entry) and was given the similar name of Pek-a-Poo.
